More than 30 TAKE2 member organisations will be represented at the 5th Australasian Emissions Reduction Summit. These forward-thinking businesses have all pledged to the Victorian Government’s collective climate change initiative. It exists to encourage and support all Victorian individuals, businesses and organisations to voluntarily commit to tackling climate change.
The Carbon Market Institute is a TAKE2 Founding Partner, and has been instrumental in championing the program to its members and the broader community, and we are excited to have Sustainability Victoria supporting the Summit and working with us to host and present the 2018 Women in Climate Breakfast on Tuesday 1st May (from 7:15am in the Jim Stynes Room, MCG).
We look forward to having our TAKE2 peers at the Summit, and to gathering for the Women in Climate Breakfast to celebrate the role of women in Australia’s climate change & business sector, and get a better understanding of the important role women will continue to play around the world as we tackle this global challenge.
Throughout the Summit, TAKE2 member organisations including ANZ, Qantas and South Pole will help lead Summit delegates through timely and important discussions around the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures and the opportunities and risks of a transitioning economy.
More than 900 organisations have pledged to TAKE2, the most recent being technology giant Microsoft. It joins other leading companies – BlueScope, IKEA, Swisse and Melbourne Airport – which have recently pledged to the program.
“TAKE2 businesses employ more than 367,000 people across Australia and have more than 16.5 million customers, so their capacity to influence and motivate others is tremendous,” said Sustainability Victoria’s CEO Stan Krpan.
Together the TAKE2 contingent is taking meaningful action to tackle climate change and help keep the global temperature rise under two degrees.
If you wish to join TAKE2 and the 30 businesses at the Summit who have already taken the pledge – you are invited to do so here.
We look forward to seeing you at the Summit and the 2018 Women in Climate Breakfast in a little over a week. It’s getting close…are you registered?
